Shots (On and Off Target), Shots on Target and Goals from those Shots on Target, all per 90 mins

Who is leading the Shooting table (up to Game Week 12)…

Its an old football adage, “If you don’t shoot, you don’t score”

So which teams shoot the most and which shoot the least? Surely that in the end is going to impact where each team finishes in the league. But wait… there’s more…

You can have the most shots of any team but if they are not on target, then you still won’t score.

But wait there is more… buy one and get another one FREE!

Newsletter Editor: Hold on, that’s the wrong copy, that text is from some other post the sales department is working on.

Oh, sorry. Lets get back on subject.

Even if the shot is on target, the quality counts.

  • How close to goal was the shooting player?

  • Were there defenders in the way?

  • What was the angle on goal for the shot?

  • How good was the Keeper’s attempted save?

  • … and much more (no, not another FREE offer)

So here are my hot takes.

  1. Liverpool are the best shooters, but their shot accuracy or quality is not what it could be. Just maybe they should have spent more than £200M on new strkers (just kidding). They will finish 5th

  2. Man Utd will finish in the top 4 and Ruben Amorim WILL keep his job for next season

  3. Chelsea will SHOOT past Arsenal in the end to win the league

  4. Leeds Utd will stay up despite their lowely position

  5. Newcastle Utd will have to win the Champions League, to be in it again next season

  6. Spurs will finish up in the bottom half of the table again this season. And if so will Thomas Frank keep his job?

Final Verdict:

My hot takes are just that, no offence intended to any team or their supporters. In fact I am always open to my hot takes being disputed with a good argument against. I’m not Nostradamus but its fun to make some predictions based on stats (or are they just guesses?) and then watch how they pan out.

Lets see.
